FREEZING

Well...haven't blogged for a few days...okay like almost two weeks...so I did start my job at LVH and I love it and know that soon I will be great at it...I hope...We had some hockey games and we are in 1st place for now...we beat the South Jersey Demons and Bridgewater Wings...both very tough games, but I thought we really played hard as a team and look froward to playoffs in April...we only have two season games left, today and 2/21..so unfortunately we have a lot of time off...but hopefully we will get a chance to play a few scrimmages or even a tournament...Last Sat at our game against the Demons, my Dad came to watch...I got a penalty that really wasn't mine...really... they called on me, but I was like 12 feet from the play...then I got a penalty that I deserved, but I was stopping a breakaway..anyway my Dad then took DJ and I out for lunch...Dim Sum from Chinatown...it was great then off to deliver Joe Corbi's pizzas to friends and family...then on last Sunday after our game against the Wings, I went out with team for dinner...see pics...We had a good time...today DJ had Klondike with his cub scout pack...I manned the First Aid Tent with Lorna..we had fun even though it started out as 14 degrees without the windchill...but it really was not all that bad where we were..and we had a tent that helped too...Lorna and I showed the dens how to make a stretcher (see pics) and all about how to treat cuts, nosebleeds, snakebits...ect...it was fun and I bought along fake wounds from my work...well that was my two weeks in a nut shell...of to rest up for my game tonight...

The Start of A new week...

Well so far this week started out good...except that we got some unexpected snow and the roads were horrible. It took me a hour to get home..usually only takes 15-20 minutes. We were supposed to go to a reading program for DJ, but we are not going due to the weather and anyway, Dave and DJ were at my in laws house and are not home yet...(the program was from 6:30-7:30) and it is 7:50..oh well...I got some much needed work done and now I am going to relax in front of the TV....

New Job

Nice picture...well I started my new job yesterday as a CRNP at LVH in Allentown...I felt good, but realized how much I need to brush up on my skills...so of course I went to the book store and was able to get two books to help, but most of the books I need, you have to get on line...so that is my next job. I really think I am going to be happy there...so we shall see....

Well over all today was a good day..I am feeling better and ready to work..DJ is not ready to go back..of course he was feeling fine today cause we caught the bug..strep...prior to it taking over fully in the throat, so he basically drove me nuts all day..then when I got his school work..he fought tooth and nail with us...although it was a lot of work...so that was my day...

Fustration...

As you may know by now...(ie facebook)..that I had/have/been treated for strep throat...got over the weekend and got antibiotics for it late Monday...was feeling 75% better by Wednesday so did go to clinical knowing that I had nothing else to do in the evening and I could nap...HA...well I know that DJ would get it..I mean I hoped that he would not, but knowing that he was drinking form my water bottle last weekend, I kinda figured...well sure enough, he started to complain of a sore throat on Tuesday, no fever and his throat looked fine...but I had the motherly feeling...then on Wednesday he complained again...even saying after school that he just wanted to sleep (he went to my neighbors off the school bus since I didn't get home in time...she even called and was worried about DJ...saying he was just not himself...) What nine year old wants to nap after a full day of school...so I called the Peds office...I mean why would they not just treat him...knowing I had it..HA...they said I needed to come in...fine...well I waited an hour and45 minutes....of course the rapid strep was positive then had to wait another 1 and 1/2 at the pharmacy ( well I actually ordered take out form the Chinese restaurant ...DJ loves the soup and that is what he wanted...so we had to eat in actually cause it did not make sense to go home)...since they did not fax over the scripts right away...well needless to say I was pissed and stressed...now I have relapsed and had to call out of work today since I could not take my nap!!!!!!!!!! And yes now I am up at 3 AM writing this still stressed..............

So Saturday January 10th was an unpredictable day weather wise mostly...I had plans to see my mom then go on to see Deepak (my awesome boss from Einstein) and other friends from Einstein (we missed a few people including Sandy, Char, & Danielle)...the weather was not cooperating...so I did not go to my mom's, but still went to Deepak's....I had a great time visiting friends, but I started with a sore throat on Friday..then got worse really as I was at Deepak's house...then I had an ice hockey game at 8:40 PM...I was feeling okay to play, and did well till the last few minutes of the 3rd period...I had to stop...then the drive home was not too bad...today I have been in bed all day...chills, fever and this throat is killing me...hopefully I will feel better tomorrow....

Went out today to see some "old" friends from our hockey days as Grizzlies...we went to Chili's...I got to use my new TomTom...I really love it...then hung out with Mitch in the evening..getting some advice as friends do...all in all it was a great day....thanks

School Started

Well school started for DJ and myself today. After having been sick all weekend and still really not feeling that good...can't eat anything heavy like good ole protein...I had a meeting at Reading from 0730-0930 then after getting things together I left for LVH for two interviews for my credentialing and a picture taken...met a interesting women who also will be working at Healthworks...we had a great talk about my research interests and her accomplishments...pretty kool...then back to Reading for a 1415 meeting...a very busy day...still need to get things done for the three meeting tomorrow before the ice storm....gotta love it....

New Years Eve was great...we went downtown to Philly to my freinds Diane and John's house...we meet back up with the Aughes and Ed and Heather (now 35 weeks pregnant)... we drank and ate and had some good times...
